Abstract
Zacopride is used in its tritiated form to label 5-HT3 receptors. It is a competitive antagonist used to label both homomeric 5-HT3A receptors and heteromeric 5-HT3A/B receptors. The (S) enantiomer is more selective than the (R) enantiomer. It has been used extensively to assess the roles of the 5-HT3 receptor in behavioral models, such as drug discrimination, anxiety, and cognition. It has been used to evaluate the role of the 5-HT3 receptor in emesis and abdominal contractions. © 2007
