Abstract

While the ionic regulation of the amphibian lens is readily inhibited by such drugs as ouabain, amphotericin B and cyanide, it is unaffected by high (up to 10-4 M) concentrations of the inflammatory agents histamine, 5-hydroxytryptamine, bradykinin or prostaglandins E1, E2 or F.
