title = "An employee assistance program for caregiver support",
abstract = "The Comprehensive Caregiver Choices Program provided support for employee caregivers of elderly people for employees at a hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. Key informant interviews and focus groups provided direction for program development and implementation. A full-time MSW and professionals with expertise in gerontology/ geriatrics provided education and care coordination services to caregivers. Approximately 4% of the hospital's workforce participated in the program. Attendees evaluated educational sessions and follow-up interviews were conducted with program participants. Caregiver support programs must continue to seek innovative and creative marketing and service delivery methods to reach out and assist working caregivers in need of support.",

Funding Information: The Comprehensive Caregiver Choices (C3) Program was a joint effort between the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) Department of Internal Medicine{\textquoteright}s Geriatric Assessment and Planning Program, School of Public Health, Special Projects on Aging and a local Fort Worth hospital funded by a one year grant (March, 2003 to February, 2004) from the Senior Way Impact Council of United Way of Metropolitan Tarrant County. The C3Program used a concierge model which employed a full-time MSW, who along with other professionals with expertise in gerontology/geriatrics provided worksite-based education and care coordination services to hospital staff and their family members who were caregivers of older adults. Educational services for caregivers of older adults were provided through a series of seminars and an eldercare fair. The C3Program social worker worked out of the Human Resources Department of the hospital. The C3Program created an 18 member advisory group consisting of representatives from local area agencies and community members with interests in aging.",
