title = "ADME and ocular therapeutics: Retina",
abstract = "Ocular diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration can greatly impact the quality of patients' lives, with the possibility of loss of vision. The development of orally available drugs that can reach the posterior segment of the eye is hampered by the anatomy of the eye. In this chapter, we describe methods for obtaining and analyzing retina and associated optic tract structures for drug levels. These techniques can be used in drug development paradigms as well as for regulatory approval processes.",
