Dr. Antunez received his Doctor of Science degree from Baylor University, Waco, TX in 2009. Prior to joining the HSC PA Program at Fort Worth, Dr. Antunez worked at Fort Sam Houston, TX, for 3.5 years teaching Tactical Combat Medicine to all levels of medical personnel within the Department of Defense. He also taught at the Inter-Service PA Program, Fort Sam Houston, TX for 3.5 years. Dr Antunez is a retired Army Major having served for a combined 32 years. His awards include three Bronze Star Medals for actions in combat while serving in Iraq. Additionally, he has the Combat Medic Badge for treating causalities under combat conditions also in Iraq. Dr. Antunez’s specialty is orthopedics, and he has over 10 years of years of combined experience in orthopedics, which includes being selected as the Chief of Specialty Services while stationed at Fort Huachuca, AZ. Since retiring from the Army, he and his wife of many years stay busy raising their two children.
