Area of Expertise
Dr. Sima Mozdbar is an assistant professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) in the North Texas Eye Research Institute (NTERI) as well as the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine. She is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and Texas State Board certified as an optometric glaucoma specialist and therapeutic optometrist. Dr. Mozdbar serves as director of the Ophthalmic Clinical Research Center, where she provides medical eye care and conducts clinical research. Her research focuses on ocular biomarkers in neurodegenerative conditions, such as Alzheimer’s disease, as well as social determinants of health in diabetic eye care. In addition, Dr. Mozdbar is director of community outreach for NTERI, adjunct clinical faculty at the University of Houston College of Optometry, vice president of the Tarrant County Optometric Society, and chair of the Texas Public Health Association Vision Care Section.
