Area of Expertise
My research applies formulation science and physical pharmacy to two main areas:
1) Pharmaceutical technology with an emphasis on studying nanoparticle penetration and distribution in target tissues and development of novel drug formulations for targeted therapy; in vitro diagnostic tools including medical devices and device-drug combination products; and bioequivalence studies of complex dosage forms.
2) Space medicine with an emphasis on studying nanomedicines for long-term space flight applications; utilization of the International Space Station to study physicochemical characteristics of complex dosage forms; and development of stable medications for astronauts.
