Dr. Kerr’s current research focuses on the effects of a growth mindset on physical health and healing as they relate to the medical placebo effect. Dr. Kerr is a member of the Society for the Teaching of Psychology, APA Division II and the Southwestern Psychological Association, where she presents her research in lifelong learning, online learning, resiliency, and the scholarship of teaching. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Educators Online, is an associate member of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, and a member of the Association of Institutional Research. Dr. Kerr’s past research and publications focus on survey development and psychometrics. She co-authored the Test of Online Learning Success (ToOLS, 2006), which resides in the public domain, is used internationally by over 250 institutions of higher education to assess students’ readiness for online learning, has been used in numerous theses and dissertations, and was adopted for collaborative use by the Merlot II learning community.
