Dr. Barron's research interests and teaching experience have focused on the cardiovascular, nervous, and gastrointestinal systems. He has received the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Physician Assistant Studies graduating classes in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. In 2011, he was honored with the UNTHSC Presidents Award for Educational Excellence. He has also received the Educator of the Year Award from the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants in 2010.
