Personal profile

Research Interests

Environmental sustainability and population level health outcomes

  • Air pollution impacts from a policy and social vulnerability (environmental justice) lens
  • Climate change impacts to health
  • Sustainable food practices (food security) and access to safe water

Pre-hospital care

  • Support and education for mental health and substance awareness in emergency medical systems
  • Advanced methods for pre-hospital medical direction

Area of Expertise

My current research interests include environmental and health related impacts using geospatial information science methods (GIS), location-allocation theory and heuristic modeling. I am studying trends of air pollution monitoring policies for health exposure assessments and the development of public health alerts in minority and low-income communities; and the consequences of climate change on social, environmental and health vulnerabilities. Further, I am interested in cardiac arrest outcomes and the use of advanced techniques in pre-hospital care.
