Dr. Warren’s main research interests include mutation rates of human mitochondrial DNA and its implications for human identification, development of Y-STR test kits, the mechanisms of PCR inhibition in forensically relevant samples, and improved methods for DNA recovery and analysis on skeletal remains and other environmentally-compromised samples.
