Area of Expertise

My research involves the ecology and epidemiology of vector-borne infectious diseases, and improvement of vector-borne disease surveillance and control systems. I have been closely working with local health departments to develop and implement appropriate practices to reduce human cases of vector-borne infectious diseases, including West Nile virus and Zika virus, with minimal environmental impacts of interventions. I plan to focus my research efforts on developing risk assessment models of vector-borne infectious diseases to better predict occurrences of human cases.
