Area of Expertise
Dr. Crysup employs mathematics and computation to create and improve algorithms and software for genetic analysis, with a focus on forensic applications.
His focus is on pushing the limits of analysis of genetic data through careful theoretical analysis, statistical techniques and software engineering.
Recent examples include using machine learning to filter erroneous alleles from forensic loci and the development of a novel method for genotyping in the presence of mixtures.
