Area of Expertise
My research primarily focuses on the areas of health outcomes and the scholarship of teaching and learning. I have more than ten years of experience in conducting observational research and analyzing large secondary databases including electronic medical records and insurance claims data. I also have more than eight years of experience in curriculum design and assessment. I have several peer-reviewed publications and presentations evaluating innovative course and curriculum designs, in addition to training future health care professionals to address disparities in care by screening for risk factors related to social determinants of health. In my current role, I collaborate with faculty at TCOM to implement and assess a novel Health Systems Science (HSS) curriculum. In addition, I am responsible for leading and collaborating with faculty in scholarly activities that advance innovation in HSS.
